Gemini-Plus 1.01

Some minor revisions to Gemini-Plus theme:

  • Slightly changed with of content and menu to make content section wider. Previously 500px wide graphics were cut off on right margin. I wanted to be able to post 500px wide photos from Flickr without any of the photo being lost, so I adjusted the width of the content to allow for this.
  • Fixed bug where header photo in one of the supplied styles wasn’t displayed properly if the width of the theme was set to more than 800px.
  • Added facility on options page to allow sidebar to be either right or left.

New version available on the Gemini-Plus page.

Gemini-Plus 1.00

By Roger at 3:47 pm on August 19, 2006 | 1 Comment

Gemini-Plus started out in life as a project to update the original Gemini theme by Jennifer Ledbetter to use widgets. Then an options page was added to easily switch between colour schemes. And then some more options were added. And then some more…

Finally, the theme has 10 different ready-made configurations, easily changeable from an options screen.

The ready-made configurations mostly consist of header photographs. There are three white text on black background configurations and seven black (or dark) text on white background with various different main background colours:

It’s also very easy to specify your own header image and change various other settings, such as background, font colours and so on.

The idea is that the styles provided with the theme should just be a starting point. It’s easy to specify your own header image and colour scheme. Indeed you don’t need to have a header image if you don’t want one - if you want a text-only theme that’s easy too. I’d like to think of Gemini-Plus as a theme builder rather than a theme as such and I’ve tried to make the building process as simple as possible so that anyone can do it without knowing anything about PHP, HTML or CSS.
